Privacy and the Electoral Boundaries Commission
The EBC acts in accordance with the privacy principles set out in the Information Privacy Act 2000 to protect personal information.Under the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 1982, submissions from the public to the EBC about redivisions of electoral boundaries are public documents. Submissions must be available for inspection at the office of the EBC until 3 months after the release of final boundaries. In the interests of transparency and an informed redivision process, the EBC also makes submissions available on its website. However, to protect personal privacy, the EBC removes signatures and street address details from submissions by private individuals on the website.
We do not collect any personal information when you access the EBC home page and browse our website. Your personal information is collected only if you choose to contact us with an enquiry. Non-personal information may be collected (such as the date and time of your visit to the website, the pages you accessed, and the browser you are using). This information will be used only to update and improve our website. No cookies are used on the EBC website.
